Hi,

I'm visiting family in Adelaide (stopping is Hallett Cove) till the 29th of Dec & hoping to do some kiting while here, got my own kit & BKSA insurance which is valid worldwide & kited since 2003. Just spent a week in WA at Safety Bay which was really windy & flat water.

Reading the forum it seems like the season here has not been as good as usual & my family say it has been a bit colder than normal.

If the sea breezes do kick in where is the best place to head too? I have printed off info from the net & the SAKSA restrictions map, seems like the closet place is Kingston Park, but is it better to carry on further north to Henley, Largs.

Could I have got out at North Haven today, seemed north & north west late afternoon & evening?

Do I have to be in the SAKSA, not here for long & I already have full insurance cover?

Any advice would be really welcome.

Cheers

Tony

Hi,

I would try them all.

Also consider going south, Christies beach, Southport behind the reef (Flat water), moana. All good for surf.

Kingston park is good till about 4pm when it goes SE. Then its ****. further north goes till dark.

Hey thanks, starting to get my bearings now, Southport sounds good - I like the flat water I only have a twin tip with me & it's kinder on my knackered knees! does it have to be a certain tide state to work?

Yesterday was interesting at Sea Cliffs - bit of a battle, pretty gusty & some strong squals coming through, waves were nice though.

Not much wind shown for this week, but do the sea breezes show up on the forecasts?

Hey Bob nice to meet you at the beach yesterday, thanks for the help.

Cheers

Tony

Hey Tony

You are right - the forecast (sometimes) only shows the overall airstream.

As we saw today, a moderate SW to SE airstream (10 knots) resulted in a decent sea breeze - up to 23 knots.
