Howdie all. Can anyone help me with adivice on what size kite to buy for Adelaide conditions. I am currently living OS and will be returning home to Adelaide soonish. I am doing some initial kiteboarding instruction in Bali and want to buy a kite and board. I am thinking of an Airush or North 14 or 16?????? Also, small, medium or large board???? PS: I am 177cm tall and 77kg. Thankyou.

Welcome back to Adelaide
Most people about 65kg to 80 kg use About a 11 or 12, if there on the larger side the 13 to 14.
Our sea breezes have been a bit stronger this year so far and the 8 and 10 seem to have been the go so far.

But a lot will also depend on the size board your using 120 to 135 seems to be the flavour again. underground FLX and l/force seem to have good boards at good prices.

This season you will seem to see a lot of new SS fuels and deisels around, Naish torches and some North's. A few cabrinas and L/Forces.

Ive kited in Adelaide for 3 yrs and i'd probs recommend a 11, 12 or 13m if ur only gonna hav one kite. U want to get a board not much longer than 130 to 135cm, with around 36 or 38 cm width. Adelaide has fairly strong seabreezes but the season for seabreezes is not that long, so ur best bet is to get 2 kites. A 12 and a 16m or 11 and 15m. You'd be best to go into a shop in adelaide and get it ther, as u'd get some gd advice and support. Onboard in Glenelg is a gd place to start.
