Just a heads up guys.
Was down at Grange beach today Friday 7/9.

We launched at the southern end where the ramp takes you down the beach.
An Ea or Xa falcon parked down the end of the ramp and put his bonnet up.
My mate George was a bit suspicious of him and kept an eye on the car.
Sure enough after maybe 20 minutes the scumbag walked over and grabbed both our bags. George tore in and i followed but the the guy ran to his car jumped in and took off.

If we hadn't of saw the snatch he could of cleaned out the content of our cars or even stolen them.

All our keys are getting recut so its no joy.

If you manage to see anyone suspicious doing something of a similar discription maybe post there rego and and ill pass it on the police.

In the end its a shame we have to take extra precautions nowdays as there are guys out there that have caught on that we are easy prey.

Can we strap an “I am a low life scumbag” sign to them and fasten them to a pole in our local car park to act as a deterrent to other characters of this nature.

Leave an 'oldish' phone in your bag with one of those anti theft GPS locating aps (Like Findme, Antidroid theft). If your phone gets stolen, the phone will send out its location to a buddy phone.
Put the address on Seabreeze and the whole community will come and belt 'em with you.

That sucks big time...
I was stupid enough to leave my car keys on the roof at Largs recently... right next to the path. I got lucky I guess.

But that arsehole will get it coming to him... Karma!

Just to clarify, was it a white EA Falcon? EA being of about '88 -> '90 model (XA early '70s)

for the type of car it was like an EA falcon with the bonnet lip going over the front radiator grill.
As an update had my keys recut on the Monday, on the Tuesday the same locksmith company called me that my keys had been recovered on Findon road. One of my keys was coded and the finders rang the locksmith company. Looks like they were only after quick cash or goods and were not interested in the the keys.

Might be worth investing in one of those car padlocks by the sounds of it. Ive been thinking about it for a while but all too often i take an extra kite or board down onto the beach in case i need to change my gear. Might need to rethink that option, they are easy targets.

Easily accessible places to the public like that it might actually be worth walking a few hundred metres up the beach to get away from carparks etc. me thinks. They are less likely to have a crack at your gear if there is more of a chance for u to get back in and pound them sensless, he he.

Thanks for the heads up Southwester, i will definitely be keeping an eye out for dodgy people from now on.
