I went on a A1 Kiteboard trip up the Murry on a house boat. We kited the "billabongs" off the Murry. We went right up to the NSW boarder, started at Renmark. Still heaps of water (bloody Victorians) Got OK wind 4 out of 7. Awesome trip great flat water, excellent food/drink . Going next year.

If you want to kite inland in sa at the moment you may need to get a landboard or buggy.

hey waydo,
fresh water lakes seem to be a bit worse for wear at the moment, however if you want flat water and good winds, try anywhere from st kilda to pt clinton. that will cover alot of the wind dirrections, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW, N. port clinton was great last weekend on an easterly.
we find that even though the wind sometimes is beyond 30 knots, the water at low tide is glass.
also its too shallow for sharks
if the winds too light we landboard when the tides out.
lets just hope it rains soon and we can use some of the lakes again.
also i havent kited there, but they say theres a lake at burra which is sweet (when there's water in it.
good luck,
james

How shallow is to shallow for sharks? i have had a bronzy swim under my board in 2-3 feet of water if you get any shallower than that then stingrays can be a problem. but for the risk the flat watter is always worth it.

there shouldnt be any sharks along that coastline because the water is shallow for miles, but i guess its possible.
