Hi there I'm coming to Adelaide this week for a course break.

I've seem some posts about needing a SAKSA membership to kite surf at Henly Beach, is this correct? Is it just the metro areas that a permit is required? How about Seacliff?

I'm relatively new to kite surfing can anyone recommend which areas are likely to be the busiest this week? I'd like to go somewhere with at least a couple of others out.

Cheers

Hi Natasha
This time of year is our off season so I wouldn't count on any wind at all.
Looking at the forecast right now there is nothing coming up in the next few days.
But of course there is the odd Northerly which we all love.
Also the very cold and wet southerly fronts we also get on because it's that or nothing.
I will be on anything and everything we get as usual.
Largs Bay North of the jetty is the spot for you and will also be the busiest.
Good luck.

Hey team
This post has been really helpful, I'm looking to come over for a week in Feb 2016 for Fringe Festival. Kite during the day, party at night.
How's the wind that time of the year? In Perth is blowing a gale and I imagine Adelaide is the same?

Any recommendations on where to stay close to the beach to get the most out of a (hopefully ) windy week?

Hey sarahlou,
You are coming at the right time, it is our peak season.
So there's every chance you could get 20 - 25 knots every day
I can't help with accomodation as the wife wouldn't understand.
You could cross reference the saksa site on where we can kite with accommodation sites.
Largs Bay, north of jetty is the go.

You can get cabin style accommodation, beachfront, at the Discovery Holiday Park in Semaphore Park.

You'll need a car to get to the Fringe events, which are mostly in the city.
