While watching the channel Ten news last night, there was a short story of Glasscraft Marine going into immediate liquidation, with the loss of all jobs. I think that this is very sad as they presented another choice of kites and accessories. Nothing in the paper or net, does anybody know anything, and what will happen to all the stock?

The liquidators are trying to sell the business as a whole and if that is not successful then the stock will be sold off separately.

Chain companies like BCF and Anaconda opening up nearby selling stuff cheaper because of their larger buying power would have hurt them badly.

I'm guessing Onboard as they are going to stock the SUPs.

Perception and reality are wonderful things. BCF and Anaconda are more expensive than shops like Glascraft for identical product. They also offer inferior brands for things like wetsuits at the same price as known brands like ripcurl etc etc.

Electronics and products like waeco are also generally more expensive.

Many of the product offerings like bikes are old product bought cheaply and offerred for more than the local bike shop sells current gear for.

The biggest impact has been the river and the health of both owners. Brett all but died in March.

Add to this the huge fall in sales the last 4 months and thats it folks. Guess the GFC spooks everyone and when the Rudd money runs out the spending stops.
