Hey we all know that Goolwa rules for waves and wind, but man you really have to have a great session in order to justify the sand all over the kite.

It seems to me that the sand does stick more at certain times than others, naturally when wet or damp it is increadible, but I noticed on Sat when the weather was changing I suspect that although at pack up it was still dry where we were on the last sembelance of beach from the big tide, however it really latched on to the kites, where as the last Sat no change dry sand it didn't. I suspect that electrical changes makes this fine sand stick more too.

What I mean is that the kite is up there at the building of the electrical change and I would be very confident that kites get electrically charged from static, once laid on the sand they attract the fine particles like a magnet, explaining why some days it is super sticky and not others.

Anyway I have a beach in my kite bag and this sand can't do the kite anygood, what it calls for is a nice dry off in the shed and even better a really dry session at Port Willie or Normi where the sand never sticks and dusts the kite right out.

I also suspect that continued use of the kites at Goolwa might have an impact on the life of the kite, that stuff really would get into the lining of the kite surely.

Any other thoughts locals?

Oh yeah I checked the station and the humidity did increase, I suppose I am also thinking here could the sand be drawn deeper into the kite by static, as there are reports of kite wear beyond other locations in the world those who kite at Goolwa all the time, possibly.
