Just like to say a very big and grateful thank you to the 2 kiters that came and made sure I was alright today after I got smashed a by a wave halfway between Goolwa and Middleton.
I tried to out run a reasonably big wave out the back and it just threw me forward which made my lines go slack hence kite fell in the surf. Once the kite got smashed a line broke and I just held on for the ride back into shore.
Its always nice to know that were out there looking out for each other and lessons like this make me remember to respect the conditions and always have a plan if something does go wrong.
I got out of this one quite lucky as my go pro was floating near me while still attached to a line and the kites only issue is its now covered in Goolwa beach sand/Murray river silt.
No worries mate, always look out for the wellbeing of others no matter what sport they are doing in the hope that someone will repay the favour when I need it! Main thing is you were ok
