Hi there,

I've had my first lesson in Barcelona, where it was light wind conditions (8-12 knots). I was able to get up and ride, but couldn't turn back to come the other way without crashing out. I had to really move the kite aggressively to stay on top of the water. We were using a big flat board, like over 140cm, and a 12m kite.

I'm just under 80kg and 5'11.
I'm still overseas at the moment, but need some kiting gear to get me going while over here until november, when I get home.

I just want to make sure I get gear that would be good for Adelaide conditions as well. I'll be looking to kite board around henley area (Ill check that SASKA map again and get my membership when I get back).
I've been checking the wind conditions on Wind Guru for Adelaide regularly, but can't get a good idea of what kite sizes would be best.

At the moment, I'm looking at a 12m LF Envy and a 9m Envy, with one medium bar for both and a 138x41 F-one board. Would this be suitable for riding around Adelaide, and maybe down near Middleton or Goolwa? Does much kiting go on at west lakes?

Cheers for any advice.

Hey mate,
The LF 9, 12m combo will be perfect for around Adelaide and down south. Regarding West Lakes, I guess you are talking about the beach of West Lakes and not the lake itself. There are plenty of crew who kite that section of beach.

If you join up to the SAKSA facebook page, there are always crew spreading the word of where they are going to be kiting on any given day.

Cheers Croc
