I'm travelling around Kangaroo Island for a couple of weeks, and would love to take the kite. Does anyone know of any protected spots on the South side of the island, that would work in a SW/SE...?
Cheers

Its a pity its not November ( the locals call it blowember) as this is the best time to get really consistant winds on K.I . I stayed at Brownlow beach overlooking the bay only a few minutes from Kingscote and got some awesome flat water and steady 19-22 knot winds nearly all day but there were days a lot stronger.
After struggling to get going on twin tip at Largs because of the chop I was up and screaming along first go and havent looked back.NO MORE WALK OF SHAME! Shallow water for for miles even at fool tide and you can drive alond beach a fair way to get better wind angles if needed. wear foot protection as there are pockets of razor fish .
One of the locals gets dropped of by his wife at Redcliffs across the bay and kites back to Brownlow about 16km im told and he beats her back home. vivonne? Bay is also popular apparantley.
