Scouting good spots in and around Lake George for some kiting. Where are good spots to take off from for typical winds? Word in Beachport is there aren't many locals and they generally hit main beach and sailboarders carve up lake george? Thoughts?
Hi Johnny,
There is a few kiters from Mount Gambier that go to Lake George from time to time.
The spit works on all wind directions but best on northerly or southerly for speed runs along the spit.
There is a spot at the 3 mile camping area. works on west through north to east. bit shallow at the moment but if you walk out a bit its good.small amount of rock at the point.
Woak wine cutting works on everthing except an easterly. bit of a walk.
I was over there last week with a newby. had good fun but and the odour of swan / duck **** was too much.
If your coming over Mt Gambier way, we can show you around our spots.
