i have previously worked ina kite shop and there are a few locals up that way who do kite on the lake.
if your one of them, sorry to bother you, if not make sure u have a mate to catch u as grass doesn't hold down a kite, and make sure u have a crash zone.
peace
good luck

Richie65 mate,

Your in luck. I live in Renmark, 15 minutes from the lake. I lived in barmera up until a couple of months ago. Kite there when ever I can. In comparison to the sea the wind is gustier, less consistant. The great advantage is that you can kite in any wind direction. North winds are the cleanest, however we tend to get a lot of s to sw . Last summer we had heaps of south wind which is not normal, as a kid the lake was know for its hot north winds in summer. Other hazards are trees, and clay on the banks. You will also need a sand bag of some sought as there is not alot of sand. There are a few of us local lads how kite on the lake, we hang out at the park just past the blue bird cafe on nookamka tce.

If you would like any more info give me a ring of text on
