Anyone had any experience with light wind kites ? Would getting a 15 m or 17m kite for the boarder line days be worth it ? Haven't noticed many big kites around. Was thinking something like a ozone edge 15 m or naish fly.

The Naish Fly is a pretty good kite, thinking of getting one myself. Here is a video of Ewan on the kite, 10 knots on an Arcade!!

They retail for:

Fly Kite Complete $2299.00
Fly Kite Only (no bar) $1799.00

But I'm guessing a deal can be done somewhere

Yeah they look good, decent effort for 10 knots. Im alittle way away from being able to get away with another purchase but ill consider one of these for sure.

17m Ozone Edge.

Best kite for racing
Best kite for light wind
Best kite to get up when no one else can
Huge depower

Cannot rate it any higher than that!

Got a 19m Core XR2 LW. Hopefully will get down to the Wall, Seacliff or Moana during the school holidays, your welcome to take it for a spin.

A big kite will get you up and riding on the borderline days.
And it is fun doing a cruisey down-winder instead of sitting on the beach looking at it.
But after doing that a few times, you realise it is soooo much more fun just to wait for the 22 knots you really wanted.

Yeah I think I have come to the conclusion that it probably won't be worth it. Have only started recently and am a little keen. I think I will be better of working on the lower end of my quiver and getting a kite that will let me power on in the higher winds. Will go fishing in the light days.
