Well looking at the forecast it finally looks windy for once, and swell at the same time.. So let us know if you are keen for a down winder along the coast from one end of the beach to the other. On Monday 8th of June 2009.. That’s if you are not going to the duff duff concert in town.. Sucks to be those people and missing out on the only ride riding of the month..
DAM!! I was late getting down to Goolwa and missed out . Next time its on i will be on time!!!!. Sounds like it was good tho, bring on the next down winder! I'm keen as . Haven't done one before so i still a down winder virgin. LOL.
sounds sweet, has any 1 got any pics from the day? with a downwinder does the wind have to be directly downwind? or doesnt matter too much what way its going like a side/onshore? nice.....
I forgot the kite-cam so no pics from mondays session. Waydo77 as far as wind direction for a downwinder, a sideshore/side on is the best bet as it allows you to ride waves with the wind as you go along. Straight onshore means you are heading up and down the beach and is not much fun at wave spots. Cross offshores can work but it is often gusty, and you need to be prepared to get back to land if anything or everything goes wrong. For an introduction to downwinders i would recommend trying the grange to kite shop run on a SW, start north of grange jetty and you have a clear run up the coast to get the hang of it without any serious waves or obstacles.
