Hi Guys... been watching you guys down at the coast.... you go off!!
I really want to learn how to kite surf and want to know what i need to do to get started.
Is there somewhere that i can go to learn, or who offeres instructions...
What do i need to get started and roughly how much does it cost? Or is there somewhere that hires cheap nasty stuff til i get the hang of it and by my own... Appart from the wetty of course... cos who wants to wear a suit someone else wizzed in!?
Anyways... any useful direction you could point me in to get started would be fantastic and muchly appreciated.

G'Day Nutz,
The First place to start is with the boys at onboard (glenelg) They can piont you in the right direct for lessons etc. as for gear don't buy anything new as you will be just wasting money cos you will cra****. This sit is probably the best place to pick up second hand gear. You should probably start with about a 12 metre kite (2003) onwards are much better kites. I learn on an O2 wipika and the 12metre best / 16metre naish **** on it. Bought the best on seabreaze for 300 bucks and was very happy. As for boards , start big and you will learn quicker. 135 - 150cm. then upgrade later you will want a couple of boards any way.

If you have any other questions etc, you can e-mail any time [email protected]

Thanks Pooley!!

I used to surf (with out the kite) and feel pretty comfy on a board... but thanks for the advice... bigger boards are deffinately easier to learn on in any water sport...

Where abouts in Glenelg are Onboard? I'm local to the area, but don't think i have ever seen them... I noticed that the Kite factory also offer lessons, but only until the end of march. Does the weather get to dodgy to kite surf in winter, or is it still do-able?

Anyways... thanks again for your advice...
