SAKSA is currently negotiating a kite surfing permit with Port Adelaide Enfield Council. The permit is likely to commence in early June 2005.
The key points are:
- Kite surfers not covered by a Permit are not "permitted" to kite surf in the Port Adelaide Enfield Council area.
- To be covered by the SAKSA/AKSA permit you must be a member of the association.
- You will need to display the current yellow AKSA tag (attaching it to your harness is recommended).
- Kite surfing will be restricted to the following areas:
1) Bower Road and Jervois Street Semaphore South
2) Wigley Street Largs Bay and Cooroyba Court North Haven &
3) North Haven Breakwater to the Southern Revetment Mound North Haven
These sites exclude access to sand hills.
- Launching & landing will be between the high and low tide water marks
Once the Permit is finalised with Council the full requirements under the Permit will be published on the SAKSA web site.
Thanks

Hi guys. I am new to kite surfing (have only been out a few times last season due work) and have just heard about this permit scheme. Is the permit thing in effect at the moment? and does anyone know which address i send my membership application to for the saksa. Is it the one in NSW or the one in SA?
Thanks in advance
