Hey everyone!!

SAKSA is organising our annual charity down winder starting at the Grange sailing club, and ending at the Chicken Shop on Sunday February 15.

As per our yearly tradition, we have chosen to support Beyondblue again as our charity. For those who do not know much about them, check out their webpage here

http://www.beyondblue.org.au/

In short, Beyond blue does some really great work for people who suffer from anxiety and depression. Did you know that around 3 million Australians are suffering from these mental health issues? They are also instrumental in supporting prostate cancer research in Australia.
SAKSA wants to help beat those numbers, and for this we need YOUR support.

So how can you help??

Cost: 10$ donation to be involved in the downwinder and bbq, with ALL proceeds going to beyond blue.

When: Sunday 15th of February at 2pm sharp for a briefing, as we all need to leave at the same time to make sure everyone makes it safely to the Chicken Shop

Where: Starting point of the downwinder is at the Grange Sailing Club, from where we will ride to the chicken shop (Mirani ct, West Lakes).

From the chicken shop, we will carpool back to the sailing club where SAKSA will cook you up a storm on the BBQ

This event is for everyone interested, and SAKSA will have support on the water the whole time the down winder is happening. If you are new to the sport but are up and riding, there is only one obstacle to get around which is the Grange jetty, though the rest is all down wind riding - if you don't think you can make it around the jetty, don't worry, we'll have someone to land you and walk your kite under the jetty for a safe relaunch on the other side. If you are unsure if you are able to come along, ask one of the crew or come and join us for the Barbie afterwards!

We could really use some crew with four wheel drives, vans or other people movers to help ferry kiters back from Chicken Shop, so if you can help, or perhaps your partner wouldn't mind driving, please let us know as this'll make things run a lot smoother on the day.

Now lets keep all our fingers crossed for some wind, and hopefully we will have an awesome day supporting those who need it most.

Spread the word, we're super keen to see you all there!!

Cheers,

SAKSA committee

hello crew!

Don't forget this sunday's (15/2) SAKSA charity downwinder to raise funds for Beyondblue!

SAKSA will be putting on a bbq at the Grange Sailing Club, plus this year we will be giving away a couple of sweet door PRIZES to those that ride with their current SAKSA tag on their harness.

We are in need of some people wanting to do some transporting back from the chicken shop to grange, so if you are able to we would really appreciate it, it is for good cause guys and girls!!

More details will be in the briefing on the day, please be there for a 2pm kick off so we can get everyone safely around the jetty and get everyone back in time for the bbq :) the bar will be open too when we get back :)

So... bring your cash, your kites, your smile and your appetite, and come and join us for a day of fun!!ps: Don't forget to also bring down all your SUPs in case of no wind :-)

cheers,
SAKSA committee
