Never self landed a switch blade but with every other kite if you dont have a mate to catch it, Fly the kite to the edge where someone could catch it then release to the safety leash. remain attached and walk up the line to the kite and sand it down. If really not sure about the safety leash or wind conditions land it in the waters edge where the surf helps to pin the kite, release to leash and walk up one line. Best to practise it first in a light wind rather than a 30knt gusty winds, best of all kite with mates.
