http://www.saksa.com.au/?page_id=4Generally a lot of learners start a Largs bay because there is a reasonable amount of shallow water. The beach also curves around meaning that if you are learning and you get blown down wind (S or SW directions) then you will generally find land fairly easily to commence the walk of shame

If you are willing to travel for about 1.5 hours then the best spot to learn in my opinion is Port Parham as there is shallow water forever and generally it is very flat in the 0.6-1.5m tide ranges.
