G'Day everyone,

I'm pretty much a newbie to the sport and am trying to get an understanding of what are the best wind directions for different spots in S.A. so that i dont see 15 knot winds on the BOM site and head out on an hour drive just to find that is bloing off-shore.

I usually head down to Kent Reserve in Victor or Snapper Point in Aldinga. Can anyone suggest some other good spots to learn and progress.

Cheers

The Hindmarsh island station is the best guide and the spot I would recommend to progress is Milang, my apologies for the other two idiots who have responded to your post- we have been windless for awhile and these two in particular are very agitatable beasts !

Thanks Geoff. What direction should I look for though? Might sound like a stupid question but would help me out a lot.

BTW, my 'W' key doesnt work very well. So for the other guys thanks for your help with my spelling but it didnt really help me with my kiting.

Cheers

South and South East are both good, I have ridden it in these directions and it is pretty nice- small amount of chop and fairly shallow in most parts. I am told the water stays glass flat in a northerly but reckon it would be very gusty as it comes off the land. If you are down there the launch and land spot is normally north of the jetty. Great spot to get some basics down - just be careful as the water is murky and it is hard to tell how shallow it is.

PS I found the missing W from the original post, it was in Jordy's cornflakes this morning.

Not only did I find the 'W' in my cornflakes, but I found an image of the virgin Mary on my toast!! I'm going to put it on Ebay and make a fortune!!
