Hey guys a quick question...
Are wind conditions generally stable during winter? meaning, do I have to worry about anything else besides squalls and my arse freezing?
I've only been going to Largs Bay so far...

Also, as a noobie, is there any spot in Robe that I could practice without interfering with the competition and experienced riders?

Winter Conditions are un-predictable eg. the wind may be cranking and then drop or there may be no wind and then heaps.

And yes, you will be cold.

This is because unlike summer, there is no steady seabreeze from the thermal flows to give stable conditions.

Just go watch when other kiters go out and see what size they are on. And keep an eye for when they head in as they may know something you dont.

As for Robe, Long beach in huge. like... enourmously long.

You will have no trouble finding a nice secluded spot along the beach to have some fun. Just watch for the wind direction because it is a horseshoe bay and you can set yourself up in a good cross-on shore breeze.

Cheers,

Luke.
