could be :P however, I'm a slave to the man so I'll be working... I could take the day off the day before if the forecast stays the same (which I doubt)... thanks

i learnt in Port Douglas in July-it only took time, commitment and money!
Stay positive-the wind gods always win-we are but afforded brief moments of great joy.Get sick, get to The Wall at Nth Haven with a small kite on Thursday and Friday and stop whingeing.
This is your DESTINY!

I learnt down at beachport on lake George. Great spot when there's enough water as it doesn't get much past waist deep and you can go to a spot where the wind is in the right direction all around the lake.

Otherwise, pt Hughes is a great spot if the wind is anything but east!

Parham is nice and shallow....

There's a few spOts around but it's cold everywhere!

I reckon Yorkes is what you are looking for.... Camping spots everywhere and beaches that face all directions, all within 3 hours drive.

If its windy, you'll get a ride, no crowds. Waves on the west coast between Inness and Corny, the rest is mostly flat.

Mostly OK for beginners, as long as you have someone with you.

thanks guys!!!!
@ peter deane: huge LOL :D

anyone keen on a suitable wind weekend road trip??? I have a small hyundai getz, enough space on the back for equipment and 2-3 people (counting the driver, me), probably 4 with a roof rack... Anyone who's keen and is not a 'wolf creek' psycho killer type is welcome to come along and/or proposed dates/locations.... cheers

I'm with you, trying to learn this time of year sucks. Have only got to my kite out once since I bought it a few weeks back and now I'm just playing the waiting game.

To strong not enough to strong not enough, seems to be the way it is happening! But when you get a little session in isn't it great. Summer is going to be awesome, just got to keep chipping away on the days that we can so that come summer we aren't wasting time on learning!

Might have to invest in afew different sizes by next winter !
