Hi all,
Was thinking on going on a bit of a Sailing/Kite safari for a week or two this Christmas. Taking a 31ftr. We did about 4days in Autumn last year, but there was a serious lack of wind and we never even pumped the kites up.
It should be a different story at Christmas though!!
K.I. was the general idea, but worried that the North coast will just be too offshore the whole time. I know we have a boat, but still don't like kiting in offshore breezes (gotta have someone on the boat to do a rescue if required- and chances are will both be kiting + kite rescue from a yacht might not be the easiest thing in the world esp. if windy!)
Any Kiting advice for KI would be great!?!
Is there anywhere to kite on the North coast with enough angle to get some cross shore/onshore action in the predominant summer seabreezes and southerlys that we will be expecting. I'm sure the North coast would be great in a Northerly, but the problem then is that all the anchorages are crap and you really can't hang around and have to flee for american river or penneshaw or whatever.
Emu Bay's pretty curvy but i dunno if its curvy enough to be cross shore in a seabreeze?
American River? - Probably a stupid suggestion..
Also, anyone else done any Yachting/Kiting trips around South Australia. If so, Location recomendations would be awesome!
We're not hugely experienced cruising so, not keen to take on to much open ocean (i.e. robe, lincoln) but yorkes and KI north Coast are fine!

Cheers mate, I've heard Vivonne is good but unfortunately it's on the southern side, where there's nowhere safe to anchor the yacht!
