Yep in the seabreeze and you have to get the tides right. Butter smooth flat water!!!

My vote - Kingston to The Granites Downwinder.

1. Its about 15km or 2 hour session.
2. You can drive and camp on the beach.
3. It starts with flat water, but the wind and waves get better as you go north.
4. There always seems to be wind on a summer afternoon.
5. Only 1 solid object (the Granites) in 150km of beach, and even that is fairly smooth.
6. It's never crowded.
7. Plenty of fish around, so the sharks aren't hungry.

Here's an aerial shot of the start....

That downwinder looks sweet, how many hours drive from Adelaide

Who knows of any good spots to hit when its 44 degrees SE and the Adelaide metro beaches are stagnant?

I heard that Edinburgh over on yorks is working when Adelaide metro is stuck in a SE cycle, flat water riding - never been there though

Kingston is under 3 hours drive (at the legal speed).

Edithburg is closer, and it does work on a SE - I had a sunrise session at Sultana in a 20 knot SE on New Years Day 08 ;)
