SA has got to be better than SWAZILAND - surely...

Best spot - Goolwa Beach on a 20 knot SW ... start at the car park, surf 10 km downwind to the Murray Mouth, through The Mouth and across the channel to Hindmarsh Island - finish at the car park.

Wallaroo.

o.k. not really

but i found point arthur (opposit port wakefield.) to be a great bit of water, but a pretty ordinary beach. I swear the water was almost dead flat in 25+
Although maybe still not worthy of #1 spot in S.A.

Wallaroo is great when it turns it on, but I think the best spot in SA is Boggy Lake- a bit of a drive and **** launching conditions but the tack up inside the reed beds followed by a downwind run through the far channel and then tacking back to where you started, unreal.

Ive been watching the graphs and weather oservations and i have noticed that the selicks hill wind graph is over 20 knots almost everytime i've check it. Its consistantly windy everyday but off shore wind. I'm interested if anyone has kited there before? and what its like?

could it be the best spot in SA?

yes i like to pretend i'm from there when other seabreeze users ask about the local conditions.
I believe that the sellicks hill weather station is on a hill which helps the wind speed, is that the case, or am i just talking out my fat @ss again?

the deal with sellicks is.
-its a heavy windsurfer local spot.
-its commonly known as the funnel and i have windsurfed it plenty,it can change direction from S/SE to pretty much E depending on the gust. it also can blow 40knots, no ****ting ya.
i have seen kiters there, but i wouldnt hit it without a jetski and a stable kite as it is gusty.

the station is up at the hang glider club ontop of the hill therefore it is windy, but if it does blow in the right direction.
be careful. would be best this time of year.

good try tho, ive htought of it lots cos it gets small clean waves sometimes.
MID coast is better in those conditions.

I am spending this comming weekend, 25-27 May, in Innes National Park (Bottom of York Pen.)
It looks like a good Northerly on Saturday - can anyone recommend a good beach (beginner level) in that area?

Guess we would like some flat water.

Sellicks hill is in my back yard. big hill making N winds look insanely windy but not West winds which are more acurate. SE winds in summer scream over there offshore to the 'funnel' at sellicks hill, yes windsuring only, do not kite this as wind spikes are insane.

Best spot in SA, come on it has to be Snapper, you know it, and the beauty is that you have to be there as it works in winter and is frontal so no worry about tourism and when it is cranking all the city crew are at the rocky outcrop spot.

Snapper is world class.

otherwise, South East
