Just got back from a frustrating 60 minutes at largs. Wind virtually dead on shore, 13-15 knots (the outer harbour reading is so deceptive), and sloppy waves. Complete pus. There was no beach, so launching was a pig. Hard to get out through the slop, then when I got out there it was deadly dull, and the waves were too poor to ride.

Everyone else had such fun over the past few days, and I've missed it all

Anyway, where's best in a due westerly?

todays forecast was possible squalls to 50 knots, same for tomorrow morning. Tomrrow mid afternoon might be ok.

Think you where the only one out today....

North Haven would have been better in a westerly ie "the wall" It would have been slight sideshore with a bit of protection from the wind chop... better still there with a bit of North in it. If it goes SW tomorrow it might be Ok down at Seacliff. There's plenty of swell around though!

Maybe, but I'm used to tassie. When you see the squall, put your kite on the sand and lie underneath it until the rain stops

Actually, I just looked on the rain radar. There was bugger all there, and with good visibility you can see it from a long way off

Next time I'll try the wall. Thanks guys
