just wondering if people could tell me some good spots to kite when we are stuck in this SE pattern. I will prob go south on Sunday to Kent Reserve, but want to know if there are any spots a little closer I can go after work during the week? I live in Adelaide Metro

We were at Milang today, there was about 6-8 people there in the afternoon. It seemed SW (which tends to be fairly gusty) most of the afternoon. The water is so low now that you can drive out on the sandy spit if you have AWD and go from there.

Now that the water is so low, you get some really flat water just off the spit, but the downside is that there is only about 10-20cm of clean water, under that is really soft black mud up to about your knees! It has dropped quite a bit since the Onboard demo day late last year.

Also be careful as there are some objects to dodge. There seems to be quite a large sign or something between the end of the jetty and the spit that only sticks out of the water about 10cm and also a star dropper with a stick next to it sticking out of the water right out from the main beach.
Is Milang going the way of Boggy?

Hey tino, how clever is it recommending someone, whose skill level you have no idea of, to go kite inland, starting off on an oval, climbing fences?
I know this spot and it’s gusty, close (upwind in SE) to a major road, kids playground and powerlines. People have died trying to kite on an oval – and you’re an instructor!
Check it out viewers, I think we’re talking Noarlunga Oval in the mid-coast. SE gusts there recently knocked trees over plus these inland winds can change direction by 90 degrees in a split second.

try the wall, just past largs of australia II drive- between cyc and port river breakwaters. Its got a bit of angle and almost dooable, plus its a long way north and the se gully wind wont come up down there till later than anywhere else if at all because its further from the hills.
p.s. just because it says se on seabreeze forecast (as good as it is!) if there's any kind of heat in the day and the skies clear there will prob be enough seabreeze influence to make it southerly at the worst- at least until after 5pm or so when it might clock around.
As far as I know Seabreeze only forecasts off the gradients and doesnt take into account local effects. Anyone know any better than this??
Anyway I reckon this is why it always forecasts SE's in the middle of the day in summer but they never happen unless its cold and/or cloudy. I always check BOM as well. If Bom says there will be a seabreeze there usually is and you can pretty much disregard what seabreeze says because it will almost always be stronger and more westerly. From my experience anyway...
