Ill be spending a lot more time up in Hervey bay from now on so will have to go for a kite up there

Depends on tides and wind direction. South east wind and low tide is best in the bay..

s/e wind lower tides -north of Pier
s/e wind higher tides -south of Pier

keep a good distance from Pier though so don't piss off the fishermen...

northerlies -pretty well anywhere along the coastline if tide is not too high...

Toogoom is a great spot too.. contact Pauly from Advanced Kite and Sup whose up that way.
He will give you the low down.
