kiting in darwin

going to darwin in a few weeks. does anybody kite up there or is that just suicide? and is it any good?

You will be eaten or stung in the salt water, in the "fresh water" only eaten! I'm up there quite often for work, no-one venture's into the water there, you even check the pool before you go for a swim! The fishing is great!

Popular Kite spots are buffalo creek, casuarina beach and nightcliff...

Robert peutz has a bunch of vids...type in 'darwin kiting' on Vimeo.
Take beer, a relaxed attitude, big kites like your 12's 14's 16's etc
Don't expect to kite and you may be pleasantly surprised!
Stinger suit recommended between Oct and May

thanks mate. i used to live up there a few years ago before i started kiting so i am familiar with the area. just hope if the wind comes up im not the only one with a kite coz ill be freaking out if i am. lol theres no way i wouldnt kite if the wind is up but if nobody else is out id be wondering why. big local croc lol thats why

yep there was a few days of decent wind. definitely worth taking my kite. but prolly need a bigger one next time. good bunch of guys/girl too.
