Errrm. Do you think the gods might be trying to tell you something? I haven't had that many incidents in a year of kiting let alone in a single day.
For towing people in, never ever grab onto the safety leash. It's not made for that. It can ping off and get everybody near it. More importantly, it's attached to the chicken loop and the kite. It can transfer the load to the kite and cause all sorts of control problems.
Grab either the back of the harness, or the handle or handle pass attachment. You have to be able to let go if things go to ****.
When towing don't dive the kite. Don't try to get up and riding. It's more of a two person body drag. The tower simply sits on the water with their feet in the straps and lowers the kite in the direction you want to go. You sail along rather than get up and planing. Be patient and just cruise in. Stop for rests (for the person being towed.)

Do people have a recommended rescue technique pulling people out of trouble?
He unhooked the Chicken loop from the kite so it was just like a long rope. Yeah I'd also recommend holding on to someone harness as it was a lot easier and it can't get ripped out of your hands.
