St kIlda pick, please PM me not reply to thread as i don't check often.

Old Wipika kite and crazy looking kiteboard.

Not suitable for beginner imo. Use at own risk!

Don't let it go to landfill, make something out of it :)

Kind offer mate but maybe bin the Wipika kite, those things are a hazard (by today's standards.)

Use the material for something more useful, like a stuff n' compression sack...

What's the board? Some oldies are goodies...

Hi there, I would be interested in the kite if its still available - looking for some kite memorabilia to be recycled into a paraglider stuff bag.

Happy winds

If you've still got it I'll grab it and try and make something with it!

Not really.

Hear me out gents!

Yes old kites have ****ty safety systems, but those systems are on the bar more so than on the kite itself. If the kite has a 5th line attachment point in the centre of the kite, then it's not too bad and safety is relevant to the equipment you have in your hands.

I've flown old (pre 2008) Cabs, North, Fluids and one RRD Hyper Type and they all have ****ty safety depower lines and bar systems, but change it over to a newer depower system, especially one with a 5th line and you're ok - relatively.

Horses for courses of course, but if you know what you're doing, I say go for it!

I have 2 older kites from 2002 (some dodgy brand XTC, I got off Ebay when I was younger and super keen!) a 12m and a 16m

I think I was very lucky not to give my self a very nasty injury with those things, I had no idea what I was doing and actually rigged up the lines backwards the first couple times and thought it was strange that when I pulled right the kite would fly left!! (I was too cheap to take lessons! at the time). some guy yelled at me on St Kilda beach for being such a idiot as I was dragging along the sand!!! lol

I forgot about the kites for a long time, and now living in Sydney and have had lessons and got my level 3....

anyway I have been thinking about giving away those kites, or the idea of using the material to make a small "play" kite might be an idea as well.

If any experience kiter wants to have a crack with them, let me know it would be interesting to see how they fly in the hands of an experience kiter!

Or I just do the world a favour and bin them!
