Looking for a surf-kiteboards that will hopefully be 2 things:

*fun in small waves - point leo/ bay waves..

And

*something that will get me kiting on a smaller kite when there isn't quite enough wind to get me up on my regular kiteboard..?

Any good/ bad boards - recommendations? Naish/ North/ Cabrihna..?? Same same or different??

Heaps of discussion on this topic on the general forums. If you want to shop locally, the Cabrinha skillit would be a great choice, north nugget worth looking into.

Are you looking second hand? I acquired a "big wave" board because it was cheapish; its workable, but not that great in the smaller waves and friggin hard to gybe. So I don't recommend one of those.

I'd be going for something short and wide.

I haven't ridden may sb but I'm loving my Naish Skater 5'4" x 19"... there are a number of others like the cabrinha skillit, north whip etc. that are similar.

The wider boards are easier to learn on too. imo

+1 for North Nugget. I don't know many people who have bought them and sold them

Im pretty light 75kg, am new to kiteboarding but used to surf lots..

Am leaning towards a board I can take straps on and off?

I'd been looking at the naish skater and north whip/nugget.. type boards

The Surf style boards are just quite expensive and not too many people seem to have them..

Wouldn't want to get one and it be a dud.

Will a regular surfboard just break?

Yup. Regular boards will break. They need to be kite specific.

Yes the Nugget is a good board But i prefer surf board shape I am also 75klg and use 5'5" x17 1/2 x 2" which i use in bay and also in double over head if you are in the Brighton area you are welcome to try a board also have 5'8" and soon have 5'10" and 6'1" The boards are true surf board rocker and design ,Epoxy and bamboo on deck Note i also jump them

Thanks for the feedback!

The nugget looks awesome for small mush, but might be a little wide for mid/ larger waves??

Think Ill try to do a bit of demo board borrowing..

BWS just put out their new drifter which pretty much sums up your goals, and last year's model comes in at a pretty good price point if you look around.
