Hey guys i am heading over to see the family over xmas . Obivously bringing my gear . I have a 10.5 and 13.5 obsession and a 136 cardboards FR and 141 underground tahee . Is it worth bringing both kites or would the 13.5 do me for most days .

Folks have a holiday house in wonthaggi so will be spending most of my time around inverloch and have heard many good things about the kiting down there . Can anyone down that way fill me in on local rules etc .

KBV website doesn't really have much information about anywhere other than St Kilda where i wont be going .

Hi Dusta,

I aim to be spending some time down there this summer also, have a holiday apartment in Inverloch.
Setup is near the angling club on the inlet (near the caravan park)
It can get pretty windy down there so def bring your smaller kite too.
Also you might want to check out shallow inlet (near sandy point) for some butter smooth water and strong winds.

Hi Dusta,

Aorta is right bring both !

You know how murphys law works with these things ...

Bring the 13.5 only and it will blow 25+ every day

Bring the 10.5 only and it will barely crack 18knots

IMO bring both kites and the CB Board.

You can get away without a wetsuit ( I had my firts wetsuitless session of the season on Sunday ) .... But the wind can cause havoc if we get a southerly or sw it is usually quite cold and can feel like it is warmer in the water than in the wind..... If you have a wetsuit top it may be worth throwing that in just to keep the wind off the wet skin.

Bay temp is about 21 deg.

that link is a good one for winds and direction in the bay.

Enjoy your stay
