Hi All ,
New to forum, and I need so some advice please!
Ive got a month off between Dec 10th and Jan 10th.
I usually go to the carribbean at that time where the wind is really consistant...ride most days..but would love to get to Perth...
Question is ...whats the wind like in Perth in December ? - I cant change my dates so coming later isnt an option. Can anyone point me to good wind stats?
Never been to Perth , No idea where to go but I will be staying at a friends house which is local to Mullaloo.
The main reason for the hol would be for Kiteing. So I would be really greateful if someone could tell me if December is a real option.
Regards my level ...solid upwind riding , basic jumping and happy in swell of any size ...but not a wave rider. and Im on a 10 and a 14m Kite.
If December is okay then next question is ...can you suggest spots ...if you can point me in the direction of a rental centre that offers rescue cover even better ...on my own so dont want to just rig up and kite off into the unknown...recipe for disaster when you dont have a clue about the spot !

Leave your 14 at home, or better, cut it in half and make a 7, youll need it.

Like dave... said, leave the 14 at home, Winds are wicked and you're coming in the middle the season, 20-30 knots most days.
Just 3km south of Mullaloo is Pinnaroo point, where the AKS kite school is based, flat and choppy, wind comes in at about midday and stays and builds all day. There is a good community of kiters here, introduce yourself, ask for local advice and you'll fit in fine. if you get in trouble one of the locals will come and help out.
Waves at Mullaloo but heavy restrictions on where you can and can' kite. Look at getting a smaller kite 7/8m as that will get a work out, even better look at the buy and sell section or pick up second hand from one of the shops to get you through the month and resell it at the end
Pretty much the whole coast is kite-able. Just remember chat to the locals they're pretty friendly, resect the local rules.

^^^^^^I´m with them. The local crew will help you out @Pinnaroo or at other spots as well if you just introduce yourself and respect the do´s and don'ts. However, if you come down here just for kiting you should defiantly bring the 14 as well. As I remember last summer there were some of those days I just got friggin crazy about not having those extra square metres. A 14 would have been perfect for me (85kg) to get those extra hours on the water. Then again, 20-30 knots most other days truly is kite-heaven compared to some of the northern countries not blessed with these winds.

Be polite. Ask if you don't know. Respect the spots and the locals. Enjoy.
And yeah, leave the 14 at home and get a 7 or 8 depending on your size.

Im coming over for the first two weeks of November, and I'm super stoked. Hopefully WA can turn it on for me.
