Kite on easterlies at the spit, near the distillery. Head there one arvo on a windy day, there'll be others there.

Have you had lessons? It's not like kiting in predictable Perth conditions. Get as much time in the water in Perth before coming down. South coast you are dealing with the following:

- Major wind shadows at most spots;
- Variable winds one day to the next;
- Forecasts which don't eventuate;
- Gusts and general fickleness in the wind;
- Changing wind directions.

...and that's for the safe spots which don't face S/SW.

As for kite sizes 7/9/12 would be ideal, but 9/12 will cover you sufficiently. One kite I would go 12m and avoid the days over 20 knots. There seem to be a lot of days around the 15 knot range, and not so many around 25 knots.

Definitely safe! Just not as easy/predictable as Perth.
