February 26th this year, Kiting out off Augusta I broke my leg.
I would like to give out big thanks to all that helped.
To the guy who dropped his kite, swam out and carried me to shore. Beers are on me.
To the other 4 or 5 guys who carried me on my board through to the estaury and gave me support while I waited for Sea Rescue. To Pete from Busso who tried in vain to get his boat going, with no joy, and to his gorgeous daughter who gave me cold water and encouraging words.
To the Augusta Sea rescue crew and those amazing plastic smokes you hand out.
To Miss Peta, for her sympathy.
To the nurses and Dr Carrol from the Augusta Hostpital for the p[laster and the nappy.
And to my mate Gavin for doing all the rest, grapping all the wrong stuff and generally making me laugh and feel better.
Wouldn't wish a broken Tibia and Fibula on anyone and learnt a big lesson on having my footstraps to tight. They're coming off!
6 months of frustration are nearly over and should be back in the water in a month or so.
Anyone else who helped on the day or following, many thanks as well.
Kind regards Jon
