Hey guys,

Does anyone kite at what used to be called Crystals Beach at Point Peron, the shallow bay on the north side of the point, overlooking Garden Island. It would work in a few different winds i would of thought.

When it cranks its awesome. There is usually a little bit of swell that comes through providing some awesome kickers to mess around on. But u could count the number of days on one hand that it gets the right wind

Normally get to kite there max twice a year - When it is the right wind direction it's normally too windy or too light - And packed with wind surfers - Awesome sets of little waves rolling in over the sand bar though...
Another place is on the other side of garden island, where the Jet-ski's race - In the right wind direction, you can kite along the "cause-way" in dead flat water - Again though... normally only get the right wind direction in winter...

And it was a **** winter, but i still dont get why people post for information on an internet forum when they should be doing the hard yards, using and learning skills that will garner you this information. Sure it breaks fA but why tell people when it does, I dont get it...take a punt and work it out like a real man/woman does I say...
shheeeesh its gonna be a long next 30 years of surfin....[}:)]

If you want to make an attack personal then send it through an PM, I used to surf that place years ago, when you were probably still messing your nappies, i have heard a of guys kiting there in winter, just wondered how many. But hey excuse me for asking.Thought this was supposed to be a helpful website but with tossers like your self around i am starting to believe not.

Helpful website, yes...helpful forum, lol.

na, just take negative posts with a grain of salt. Its an outlet for people to "get it out"

However, I do understand people getting a little bummed about their favorite spots being advertised on the internet. Especially down that way - it used to be a sleepy little place.

Its simply not considered good forum etiquette to do so.

Yeh i know what losing your favorite spot is like.Secret Harbour or Surf beach as it used to be known as was a great spot to surf, not that easy to get to, never got too crowded, then developers come through and put have a dozen carparks along there and make it easy for any fool to just pull up and head out, for that reason i will no longer paddle out, cant be bothered with the crap. It doesn't take a fool to use some of the satellite imaging websites and zoom in to see where people are kiting, surfing or windsurfing. there is a new website that gives you some pretty good detail of someones kite, so once people learn of this one then no ones favorite spot will be safe.

sorry mate, i dont mean to be rude. I guess i interpreted your post as asking for information on conditions, not how many guys are using this spot.
so whatever ...
What i was saying is not about locations, everyone knows where surf spots are.. finding them is easy.
I thought you mentioned conditions you need to ride there....(which i personally spend a lot of time and effort figuring out)
And im saying go work it out for yourself instead of broadcasting the finer details on the net...that is kookish really, dont you think? I apologise sincerely if you are offended,
If i was in nappies back in the day, how come i know when to surf there and you dont??? And surfs is actually called annesty beach, but im not posting to argue...
wait yes i am...welcome to the forum!!!! And please quote exactly where i made a personal attack on you coz i cant see it. Or you could pm me if you just wanna go ride coz thats what I care about, ima keen anywhere south of freo. Suss some places out...see helpful
ps i am being sincere but that spots no good

The crew that i usedto surf with, guys a lot older than me used to always call it surf beach, and i am going back 25 years, when i first started surfing down here. I wasn't trying to get when it fired out of anyone.I have lived down this way for over 30 years so i know when the winds hit and when, before i was old enough to get lifts to surf beach we used to ride down to the pre mentioned spot and surf it, normalyy only good when certain winds blew and up to a couple feet, but a fun time to be had by all.

yeah its always been known as surfs but the dirt track leading to it and the beach is/ was called annesty. Not sure on the spelling but I was just stirring really think there is still a sign on one the roads tho.

I got pushed into me first bit of white water there when i was four or so by me brother.. Balling my eyes out on the way out,, pooman tube ride stance on the way in!!!! probably only 5meters from shore!!!lol got lost when i drifted at age 12 with me foamy. walked for ages looking for me bros gf sun baking, asked a bloke at his fourby where the track enters the beach cos thats where they would be and he pointed to a car on the horizon...groan!!!!

Im about half hour south of there now days, hopefully might run into ya and go for down winder this summer, bit gusty today....... as usual
