G'day guys,

I recently got a 10m 2011 fuse and I'm having some setup problems with it. I'm pretty new to kiting and I'm not sure if it's just me being a kook or if the kite isn't set up correctly. Thus producing some strange characteristics.

Here's what I'm experiencing:

- Kite is prone to stall out with bar out at 12 o'clock.

- Fully powered with bar in barely gets me going.

So I'm thinking the back lines have too much trim and this is why I'm not getting enough power out of the kite. Also this would explain the stalls at 12 o'clock as the front lines will perhaps have a tendency to pull the nose forward and down giving a negative Angle of attack. With no tension on the back lines to counter this the canopy stalls. I'm going to measure line lengths tonight, however the fuse has a few adjustments for the back lines. Soft, medium and full. I've had them set to soft from the get go. Full looks to be a slightly different setup (hopefully someone with a fuse can comment on this).

All thoughts and comments are welcome.

Cheers

What winds are you flying in, sounds light? the kite is dropping nose down, not stalling back right? Check line lenghts as you mentioned should be around 50mm of oversheet ie chicken loop is 50mm from bar when lines are under equal tension.

I could fly my 10m and go upwind in 15kts on a TT at 85kg.

Cheers for the response Nick. Flown in 15+ winds so far. Was out last sunday and having this problem still (howling wind this last sunday).

Same weight and TT like yourself.

Hi Gezah,

Check your line lengths, sounds like the kite is luffing, not stalling. As NickT said ^^^^

Thanks DM.

I think you guys have hit it on the head. From what I've read it does sound like it was luffing. Which would also explain the resultant stall that I got a few times with the kite at 12.

Thanks again for the advice lads. I'll be checking my lines tomorrow or sat and will post up my results.
