I am trying to fly my trainer kite, just so I gain a bit of experience, but the wind is so stupid.

I flu it tonight on Narrabeen Beach and the gusts were rolling my little kite like hell. For a couple of moments everything seems to be fine and then all of a sudden comes down due to wind rolling it. Is it better in the summer?

Is it my lack of experience in handling the kite or it's just not a good wind?

Lack of experience. Keep practising until you a) don't crash the kite and b) understand why it crashed.

Trainers aren't the same to fly, but if you can't fly a trainer you shouldn't fly a LEI.
