Hey all,

As some of you may know Jervois Bay Sailing Club is at Woodmans Point on the North side.

The Commodore comes into my work and has asked me to pass on the the WA Kitesurfing fraternity that they are willing to welcome kiters to join the club and take advantage of their great location for secure parking while kiting, a place to wash off yourself and gear, bar and food facilities and also camping for extending kiting trips!!

Senior membership is under $200 a year which seems pretty cheap to me.

That does sound pretty good for secure parking at Woodies. Where on the point is the parking lot? Does it just have access to beach 3? How far to walk to the others?

Good of them to include kiters rather than thinking segragation of sports.

It is just East of the concrete plant car park and has access to beach 3.

Would be a short walk to beach 1 and a bit of a trek to beach 2.

yeah the club has had an injection of younger people on the committee who understand that for the club to grow they need to encourage all the beach users of the area to be invlolved.

Also a new large toilet and shower block is being built and a sail/kite drying area!!!

this is a very positive move . Good to see the sailing club has to change to stay alive . I would actually consider joining the club this year and take advantage of that . I dont go to woodies purely on the break in factor but if that was negated then thats a great idea .

Good to see someone being positive towards kiters for once

Sounds fantastic I'm in, what a luxury it would be to have a grassed area to wash and pack up gear instead of the road, a safe place to park cars and a cold beer at the end of the day.
