I hope the kiter that the police spent 2 hours searching for last evening made it to shore safely.
We were at Sculpture by the Sea when a black and white RRD (?) kite came drifting by. A couple of guys swam out and retrieved it and the harness lines.
A little time later - as dusk wore on - the police launch and two helicopters spent a considerable time scouring the sea in front of the surf club and points south. Hopefully all just a miscommunication?

It looks like he must be ok there is a post in the lost and found for a missing RRD last seen floating North from Leighton.
A reminder to all, if you lose your kite on the ocean inform the Water Police (93354511) because if a drifting kite is reported they will no doubt start a search for the missing kiter.
Also a lot of people put their phone number on their board but it is also a good idea to put it on your kite aswell.
