Hi Ali,
So far only 'NoBs' helpful one line reply - so, not much encouragement for you unfortunately.. He's correct that the season is getting near to the end - but it never really got started this year anyway..

Just be careful at this time of year, an onshore wind can switch off in a moment and swing offshore - with obvious dangers.
You'll soon learn when the first and last breezes of the seasons blow, I'm more optimistic than "Nov - March" but hey, you get that..

It's different every year too.
Do not go out in the winter until you really know what's going on. I'd advise
at least a full season and some serious weather study before you go out in frontal winds. Can you imagine rigging for 15knts and then suddenly being hit with 35kts...

Firstly, credit to you for coming here to ask the question instead of just going out and pissing folks off or getting yourself into trouble like some f'wits do.
You say you've recently been taking lessons? It's always a good idea to try to get your lessons where you intend to do your first few hours kiting.. That way your instructor will pass on knowledge of the spot to you and you'll feel a lot more comfortable doing those first few solo sessions in a familiar spot. I'm guessing you didn't do that?
AKS operate a very good school at Pinnaroo, I'm nothing to do with them but I did have lessons there and know first hand their professionalism. If you think you're ready to get out there on your own for some body dragging, why not go have a chat with the school up there? You can either go it alone or perhaps ask for a short lesson to familiarise yourself with the area and where to launch/land if you're just dragging and practicing. It all depends how much instructor time you have really had I guess.
Regards Mullaloo, I can't really comment, I know there has been a lot of problems there and I wouldn't advise a beginner to try dragging there, there are exclusions zones in operation. Blow through them and you'll make all kinds of acquaintances very quickly… Not the friendly type I'd guess. Go to your local kite shop or contact WAKSA for the 'Perth and surrounds Kite Location Guide'. (I know AKS have them in the shop down at Scarborough) Others perhaps may chime in regarding Mullaloo but that's my take on Pinnaroo anyway.
You've done a good thing by posting here and asking the question. You'll make friends rather than enemies Ask the people who know. Hey, a familiarisation lesson at Pinnaroo will come with the board you can't afford yet too

Good luck, stay safe.
