Hi all, my husband and I were affected by the fires, we are ok and so is our home and our pets, we were allowed back into our home last night to assess the situation, decided not to stay as smoke was still thick. We wanted to give back to the hardworking firies and workers who fought the battle so we volunteered our time at the Salvation Army Food Stall at the Roleystone Fire Station for most of the day. It is clear that there are many people in need and as Armadale Arena are overloaded with donations they cannot keep up with anymore donations or volunteers other then non perishable food so I am taking in donations to sort and pass onto the relevant authorities, people in need once they are sorted which could be days or weeks, these people who have lost everything will need things for weeks even more to come. We are after Cleans clothes of all sizes, NON perishable food, bottled water and juice boxes, toiletries, baby goods, blankets, pillows you name it the list could go on an on. I am in Clifton Hills. Please PM me if you have anything you want to contribute, not everyone can afford cash like they are asking even though thats ideal. Thankyou to you all in advance. Proud to be an aussie and live in this tight community xx

Hi, I just read your message and wondered if you could help me, I have quite alot of stuff that the people of Albany have donated to help the Bush fire victims but am now having trouble finding some one to take it. Grace removals have offered to truck it to an address in Perth free of charge, but all places I ring tell me that they can no longer take the goods. There is all sorts of stuff like nappies, dog food, good quality clothes, good furniture etc. If you are able to take it could you get back to me asap as they are ready to take it tommorrow!! My number is 0448552363
Thanks,
Jodi
