Hey All - just got back to WA and started lessons with AKS after getting into the sport briefly 3 years ago.
What a dream - the AKS crew are first class, totaly welcoming and are up for helping the newbies. From the first moment I stuck my head in the van and spoke to Darren I was in - they want to help, get you into the sport but never sell!
Was waiting for a lesson the other day and watched an instructor rescue a newbies board (not his student) then took care of his guy like gold - what class.
Had my first lesson (wind was cranking and we actually had to stop after the first hour - of course they credited the next hour) Marty was so relaxed and professional - learnt so fast - could not wait for the next one.
Their gear is so learner friendly and gives us newbies such a kickstart!
Went back today and the wind was light and re-scheduled my lesons (thanx Ben).
So dragged out my gear that had been under wraps for 3 years. Another experienced local was checking his gear, waiting for the wind to come in, introduced himself and then helped me check all my gear (which was all rigged wrong!) He explained how to really check it out, what was what, and fixed my lines! What a star! He was putting together his new board that he had just bought from the AKS crew, explained the board, the different footpads, the board makeup, its characteristics etc etc etc. Totally passionate and gave me massive support, advise and encouragement as a newbie (Cheers Chris! )
If you are thinking about taking up this sport, are nervous as a newbie, want advice, need help, want to take lessons...........................you couldn't find a better place - the crew at Pinnaroo are all class - they take care of newbies - encourage newbies and have a first class program and the best gear you could want.
I cant wait o get out again, get upwind, get some air and then just have a good time with great people.
Hats off boys!
