Hi there

I rarely post to the forum but this was an extreme case.

A guy on a black kite was doing a downwinder from Swanbourne to destination unknown this afternoon at around 4PM. A whole bunch of us on the water at the time observed the same risky behaviour. This guy (apparently not from around here) rode right among the swimmers all the way down the coast until he put his kite in the water in the shallows at Scarborough.

From what I saw he is a competent kiter. However, on a hot Sunday afternoon when there are many swimmers enjoying the beach, that sort of behaviour is very risky. We all know that one little mistake may be enough to kill or maim someone, possibly a child. It also casts kiters, both local and foreign, in a very bad light.

It is not about rules, it is just common sense. Please show respect for the swimmers and local kiters.

Regards, Pete

Simple
if you don't give him a serve he's unlikely to know what he's done wrong
spend a bit of time acting at the event than posting later,

Imagine trying to have a nice swim and being rushed at by a kiter with a sharp board who may or may not have seen you, so rude! Risky indeed!
