Guys, I am looking at starting up this great sport, i have purchased a trainer kite and will be spending a few hours getting myself re-aqquainted with the art of flying power kites,( i used to buggy for a little while before i injured my shoulder).
Now i intend to practice flying the trainer for a few hours before going for a lesson, to make the learning process quicker.
Now i don't want to go out and buy a new expensive kite until my second or third season. I am wondering what sort of kite i should be looking at and roughly what size, i am around 85kgs and slowly losing a little bit of weight, hopefully will steady out at 78 to 80kgs.I live down at Secret Harbour so have access to some good spots with good winds.
A mate who has been kiteboarding for the last few years recommends to go for a 10metre kite. Would this be to small or should i look a little bigger around a 12metre with a good depower to allow for faster progression in the sport.
So far i have been looking at all kites that are at least 2006 and above, are there any earlier years that have a kite that would suit.
Thanks
