So I found my board.
Well 95% sure it's my board anyway. We can all recognized our loved, and sometimes miss treated surf boards over time.
I approached the guy carrying it up the beach, asked if he happened to have find it a couple of weeks ago. "Na mate, owned it for years".

Now I'm no detective, but the way he talked and the fact he told me he had kited from Port beach to Trigg (I saw you getting in at Swanbourne).
Makes me think your not totally on the level.

But what do you do? Stand on the beach and tell a man he's a lair. I live in the real world and I didn't have the serial number on me, so no proof.

You know, I been visiting this website/forum for a while now. And all that comes out of WA is people b%&$#ing at each other. Or windsurfers!!
I know the kiting community here is growing fast, and that in its self will cause problems. But we all need to stick together and help each other out.
We need to look out for other beach users, and if you need to tell your mate to pull his head in. Do it. Otherwise we will all loose out.
A bit of a rant I know, but I like to think that we can stick together and have a bigger voice.

There's definitely a few slabs in it for the return of my board.

P.S If you like a girl, don't try and hit her in the head with your kite when she's deflating her kite on the beach at Trigg.
She won't like it, and it makes you look like a tosser.

Yea, lost it about 3 weeks ago. Posted in lost/found on here. It had a name and number in permanent black marker written on the tail.
Granted it may have been in the sea for a week, but I still think the name would have been visible. Must have been removed.

A few weeks ago the it was hot and the sea breeze was a little funky. I was quite far out when at about 4 pm the 18 knots wind just stopped. Forecast was for for 25 knots. Well that didn't happen. When the wind picked up again, and I managed to get my kite in the sky. It was blowing SE. Cross off. I body dragged back to beach, but board was on it's way to Africa. Turns out it must have landed on the rocks North of Trigg somewhere. I think this is where it would have been found. Any info call Shaun. 045 111 5712. Beers in it for ya.

Yea. When I looked at the board it just looked like mine. All the wear marks etc. But could not be 100% so I didn't push it on the beach.
But what really gave it away as the way he acted. On the beach before I approached him (after looking at the board sitting on the beach). The way he was in the car park. The way he tried to drive away so I didn't get his number plate. I could just tell he was rattled by my presents.

Ps, if there is an easterly change forecast around 7 or 8 pm and the sea breeze isn't as strong as was predicted, chances are it's gonna swing easterly early so a d.windler is a dangerous call. Surface pressure trough on the coast is another tell-tale sign of an early easterly. Closely check the forecasts on days like that to avoid another kitemare. Hope u do find your board though mate. Yeah, mate, I feel for you. Duno what I would do if faced a guy with my board. I guess will never find out since have a feeling some Euro turist pinched it of grassed area at the river...Probably down south by now. Or over east.

And I have a feeling it may be an Aussie - keep your narrow minded, uneducated guesses to yourself unless you are privy to some information that you have not shared. Why point the finger to a particular group when the worst offenders are in your own back yard.

sorry to hear and read this..any kiter using the same board in same general area will ultimately get caught or seen.......that would be massively bad karma and shows the ultimate in rude nerve

i had a friend whose gf's pushbike was stolen.he basically found it grabbed it..and got it back and refused to let go.if the guy would not communicate with you properly on the matter thats a true sign and believe u
other side is perhaps the same make board gets wear tear dings in same areas?..but possibly unlikely.

hope u see him again grab it..and he sits and communicates with u properly with no lies (if it is yours...)

don't know if you were too passive or not. you didn't actually know 100% that it was your board. The guys behaviour definitely seems to hint that its your board. Have you seen him again ? I don't think i could let that one go myself. It looks like a really nice board. Have you seen him again ? How much does it cost to replace ??
