Lucky Bay (Melville waters) has the advantage of being quite shallow for a long way out from shore, thus enabling a beginner to be able to stand up and sort themselves out after a stack.
It is also VERY gusty close to shore, and there are a few trees just waiting to grab your kite

Stay out deep if you are walking your kite back upwind.
There's not a lot of beach area for rigging up, but it's a lot nicer environment if you bring friends or family down with you (grass and shade)

If you are a beginner, I would suggest you park your car at the very
east end of Melville Beach Rd, unload your gear and walk it up to the very
west end. Rig and launch from there as you will not be able to stay up wind very well, plus throw in a few stacks, and before you know it you'll be half way back to your car. You WILL end up doing 'the walk of shame' several times though
