I'm new to Perth and the forums and had some questions for you. I'm doing my internship right now here in Perth (until October 19th) after which I'll go travelling and especially kiting. Now I have a small problem, my visa application went slightly wrong and I ended up with a visum expiring on November 3rd while my flight back home is on November 16th. So I have a dilemma:

Option 1: Go through some trouble and try to get an extended visa, allowing me to travel and kite WA for a month
Option 2: Change my flight (which is free in my case), so I spent 2 weeks in WA and 2 weeks in the Philippines (Boracay for example), or maybe somewhere else (Mui Ne, NZ?)

Which one would you guys pick, where do you think kiting conditions will be better, WA looks better (I'm relatively new to the sport)? And of course I'm always looking to hook up in/around Perth for kiting or some drinks, as well as a travelling partner in the weeks after my internship!

I've got absolutely no experiece of kiting in the philippines and in fact have never even been there, but as a fellow beginner kitesurfer i wouldn't want to go kiting there. In case things did go wrong.
Thats just my twopence worth !
You could always overstay your visa !!

Thanks for the advice I'm not very fond of the option of overstaying my visa. I'd rather try and extend it or get out of the country. I'm growing more and more fond of you ozzies and your country so I think I'll just try to get a visa and if it not works out then plan something else. I'm looking to rent a vehicle to travel around with. So if anyone has some recommendations, please!

Furthermore if someone wants to travel around Perth a bit as well (doesn't have to be 4 weeks of course) maybe we can combine something. See you guys on the water.

Ps. I'm very sorry for everybody's loss and wish you guys the best of luck tomorrow, I'm amazed by your community!
