I am new in this forum and need little help with planning my trip.

In another topic (due to first post here I'm not allowed to post the link) outcome was quite clear, not go up north in Feb.

I will be in Australia in march. Kiting is not main goal of the trip and it's not yet clear wether we go to east or west coast. But if it's worth I would try to convince my wife to go to WA and do a 4 weeks trip towards Exmoth (perhaps not all the way up).

So main questions are:
Is it still a bad idea to go north direction due to heat, flies, cyclones?
What about the wind in march?

I am from Europe and we will be traveling from Jan-Apr next year with following destinations planned so far:
Jan: Philippines
Feb: New Zealand
Mar: Australia
Apr: tbc

As mentioned the whole trip is not 100% focused on kiting (unfortunately), hence I don't need wind every day and 15-25knots is fine for me. I am planning to go with split board and just two kites (9+12 or 8+10) as I don't want to have my huge board bag with me all the time. With split board it's "just" a 2nd normal luggage to carry around.

You said it starts getting cooler, what temperatures do I have to expect? Are flies in March be still an issue on non windy days? I saw pictures and videos of people wearing these mosquito net which look like a pain in the ass

Your statement "...reconsider as the effort might not be worth it." refers to bringing kite gear or north direction in March in general?
